Ana Pinho Vargas

About Me

My name is Ana, I am a Portuguese artist, photographer and painter based in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto.

I grew up in Lisbon and now I live in Vila Nova de Gaia, in Porto. I have a Bachelor degree in Photography and Visual Culture from the Faculty of Design, Technology and Communication in IADE European University in Lisbon in 2019 and a Master degree in Photography from the School of Arts of Portuguese Catholic University in Porto in 2022.

Since an early age, I always had interest in arts and music. My parents are musicians and my twin brother is a double-bass player. I studied music from a very young age, starting with my first instrument the violin and then the piano and harpsichord.

I am passionate about arts, I love taking pictures and painting, reading new artistic books and discovering amazing new art and artists. I love going on my morning walks near the river and getting inspired by every detail that I encounter. I love cooking, everything about organisation and decorating spaces, I am always very curious and I love learning new things everyday!

Besides being specialised in Photography, I also did some art courses, specifically drawing, watercolour and oil painting in Nextart, an artistic formation center in Lisbon, in 2015. My photography work has been exhibited in Porto and Lisbon.
